Pond Liners and Underlays
The first stage of any pond project is excavation (digging a hole!). The next process is to cover the excavation with a pond liner. A pond liner is simply a waterproof fabric that keeps the pond water in the hole. A pond liner is essential as without it the water would simply seep into the ground.
There are 4 types of pond liner, each having their own advantages and disadvantages. We stock PVC, Greenseal EPDM Rubber, Butyl Rubber, and Firestone EPDM Rubber in any size you can dream of, whether you're building a garden pond or a even a lake. We also strongly recommend that our geotextile underlay material is used beneath a flexible liner, not only to help protect it from puncture by sharp stones, roots etc, but also to stabilise soft sub-soils and reduce excessive stretching of the liner.
Betta PVC Pond Liners are perfect for building small and medium sized ponds. They are available in a range of pre-cut sizes from 2m x 1m to 8m x 8m. Betta PVC Pond Liners are made from high-quality materials which makes them tough flexible and easy to install. They are highly resistant to UV frost and root penetration. These liners are 0.5mm thick and carry a 25-year guarantee.
Butyl Pond Liners are made from premium, synthetic rubber pond liner recommended by leading European water gardening experts. It has been field tested for more than forty years in hundreds of thousands of installations throughout the world, varying in size from 25sq. ft garden ponds to 4,000,000sq. ft water storage reservoirs. It is remarkably flexible and comfortable, it is safe for all aquatic life, it withstands exposure to artic cold and desert heat, and it will last longer than any other flexible liner underwater and underground.
The main component of Firestone EPDM is a single-ply synthetic rubber waterproofing geomembrane made of ethylene – propylene – diene terpolymer, mixed with carbon black, oils, curing agents and processing aids. It is calendered into large sheets and vulcanized.

Mastic Pond Liner Tape is designed for repairing holes in Butyl rubber and PVC pond liners. The tape is also ideal for sticking down unsightly liner creases that can appear in the pond. This double sided tape is extremely sticky.
