Yamitsu Dechlorinators |
|
| |
Chlorine is added to tap water to kill bacteria but unfortunately Chlorine also burns gill filima and will kill beneficial nitrifying bacteria within the pond and filter system.
A dechlorinator works by passing water through activated carbon, providing chemically cleaner, chlorine free water. Water should be in contact with the carbon for approx 4 mins to enable it to absorb chlorine.
There are no hard and fast rules as to when the carbon should be renewed so the figures given below are given as a guide only. Using an optional water meter will enable you to calculate the volume of water added to your pond.
- Always back flush new carbon at the start of use. - All units are supplied with Pre Filter and Carbon.
