
The History of Ochibashigure: The Ochibashigure is a very interesting and rare colour variety. The term Ochibashigure means dead leaves floating on the water referring to the leaves that fall onto the pond when the weather turns cold. The fish is derived from the chagoi line. It became famous when it won Jumbo koi first prize at the 18th Imabari Koi Show.
Ochibashigure Identification: It occurs in normal scalation aswell as doitsu. It has green, grey basic colours with a filigree reticulation of brown from which the allusion to dead leaves floating on the water originates.
